FBI uses Mac OS X

Security Focus notes that the : "many of the computer security folks back at FBI HQ use Macs running OS X, since those machines can do just about anything: run software for Mac, Unix, or Windows, using either a GUI or the command line. And they're secure out of the box. In the field, however, they don't have as much money to spend, so they have to stretch their dollars by buying WinTel-based hardware. Are you listening, Apple? The FBI wants to buy your stuff. Talk to them!"

Macs are already cheaper!

The guy's entire article is about the problems that virus, trojans, etc. pose to Windows machines. These problems cost money! So they're already saving money by using desktop Macs, on a total cost of ownership (TCO) basis. Why not extend that to laptops?

Besides, Mac laptops closer in price to their PC counter parts than are the desktops, so even on an initial cost basis, Mac laptops are a good deal.

Apple really needs to come out with a commercial like the battery ones .. Where it shows a kid using a mac in school and playing some simple game that teaches the alphabet .. then it says .. It might just be a simple tool in school but the FBI uses it to capture terrorist .. Show the criminal running away and leaving his dell behind .. heh .. Show the dell with the blue screen of death :)

SO REMEMBER .. Using a PC helps terrorist .. BUY MAC J

Maybe we should send John Ashcroft to locate this guy and have him shipped off to gitmo!

I bet he's a muslim extremist.

Anyone who thinks Macs are immune to viruses is a Bush loving, Ashcroft sucking arsehole.

The only reason we are semi-safe is because of low numbers - not because we're not targets, but because if we do get hit it doesn't spread so far or so fast.

There are some really quite nasty potential ways into a Mac, which in some ways are much worse than on a Windows PC - don't think you're safe just because you haven't been hit yet.

Hey Bill:

Prove it. Why don't you take your "excellent" software programmig skills and figure out all the security holes in MacOS X and Linux. I doubt you'll find anything compared to the Windows security holes that have been found this year alone (and we're only 29 days into the new year).

Stop lying and put your money where your big mouth it.
