TitleTrack Jukebox now available

updated 08:58 am EST, Wed January 17, 2001

RiverSong InterActive has recently released TitleTrack Jukebox, a $290 complete hardware and software package for controlling the Sony line of music CD changers. Up to 12 changers can be controlled by the product, which inventories, organizes and accesses music collections. Version 2.0, which will be released soon as a free upgrade to registered users, will add the ability to play MP3 with CDs and add an IR transmitter for controlling any component in a user's home-entertainment system.

    Very Nice

I have TTJ on a Sony 300 disk changer, and it is wonderful. Sure it's 290 dollars, but it adds ALOT of value to your CD changer.

The IR portion rocks as well...from the little bit I've used during the Beta. Even without the IR...it was well worth the $290. Just the ability to inventory all those CDs in your changer without using that lame Sony remote or trying to do it on the keypad of the changer was worth the money.

    better than zephIR

Actually, Titletrack JukeBox is better than Zephir in cataloging CDs - with TTJ you can leave your CDs in the CD changer & it will inventory the slots, adding info from CDDB and/or AppleCD database. As I understand it, with ZephIR you can control CD changers via IR, but to catalog CDs you'd have to load them on your Mac CD-ROM drive one at a time. The key difference here is that TTJ uses the Control-S wired interface (bi-directional) for communicating with the CD changer. I recommend TTJ to anyone with a Sony multi-CD changer!

    I LOVE IT

I've been using TTJ for a couple of years now, and with my three changers it's amazing how much music I can hear on a regular basis. without this software I would probably forget I own half cds I have. honestly I think $290 is a great deal. count your cds and multiply by 10 or 15 that's how much you've invested in your music collection. do you ever scratch your discs? do you ever listen to those older ones? with a few changers and TTJ your discs are safe and you'll be able to access all your cds quickly and easily... and no, I don't have any affiliation with Riversong Interactive, other than being a very satisfied customer!

Too bad it is not USB

The problem with this is that it still use the serial port of your mac. I have a cube so I will have to buy a USB/Serial adapter .

Also I use itunes a lot and I don't want to use two separate music software. I hope they will releasea plug-in to itune so that we can use all the CDs in the Sony changer directly with Itunes...
