17" PowerBook cases: Big Back Office, Laptrop Grande

Shaun Jackson Design last week introduced the Big Back Office, a larger version of its computer carrying case that transforms into a mini portable office and a larger version of its Laptrap--both expected to ship early next month; while it also debuted a new leather version of the Laptrap designed for the business executive; it is expected to ship this Spring.

Shaun Jackson's Big Back Office can be converted in "seconds from a comfortable, padded backpack to a single shoulder strap vertical briefcase. The pack opens to create a functional, well organized portable office, for use on your lap or on any desk top." It features a new removeable center area that can be used as a sleeve carry case as well as new shoulder stap with a cell phone/iPod holder. The 17" version is $180, while the 15" version is $150. It will ship in early February.

The company also introduced the Laptrap Grandé, a larger version of its laptop sleeve carry case designed for 17" PowerBooks. It will now include a single shoulder strap along with the cell phone/iPod case. The Laptrap Grande will only be available in all black ballistics nylon. It will ship in early February for $90.

Shaun Jackson Design also told MacNN that it will also soon offer a leather version of the Laptrap detailed with refined all metal hardware. It will function just the same as the popular current version of the Laptrap, but will be "well appointed for the business professional." The leather version will also include its own leather single shoulder strap. A leather version of the attachable backpack harness will also be available as an option. The
estimated price for the Leather Laptrap will be around $190.

Laptraps for my Titanium before I traded up for a 17" Powerbook, and will vouch for the beautiful design and functionality. You can open it, do your work, close-up, and go. It is amazing, and I cannot wait for the 17" version so I can sell my current backpack and get a Laptrap for the big guy.
