IMG has published a short interview with NVIDIA PR Manager Brian Burke which covers such topics as NVIDIA's development of the hardware abstraction layer for the Apple DVD Player. "We worked with Apple to implement a hardware abstraction layer - a layer that removes the direct chip dependencies between the DVD player application and the underlying graphics architecture beneath it, which could be found in the previous version of the DVD playback utility provided by Apple," says Burke.
