Popular Blink II camera lacks OS X support

Methodshop observes that the popular Blink II digital camera is not compatible with Mac OS X, unlike the majority of cameras that allow OS X users to "plug-n-play." SiPix, maker of the Blink II, has been contacted by Mac users, but has said it doesn't believe there is a market. Methodshop is encouraging Mac users to "prove them wrong" and express an interest in software for the camera. "All they need to do is write a few lines of code so iPhoto will recognize their products."

What does it take for them to write a couple of lines? The say they do not believe there is a market, but it appears this is a persons thought and not market research driven. If they had indeed look into it they would have relized it would not have required anything for them to add support. Lame.

This is a POS little camera. It supports a max resolution that Apple had in its digital camera over 8 years ago (which was also a POS by todays standards).

I would curse anyone who got it for me.

Also I am not sure how easy it is for this to be supported on Mac OS X. It looks like they use some none standard storage method on the stupid thing that their software interfaces with.

Leave this company behind. This camera sucks, just like the Casio Digicam of 1997. Hint- go to Amazon.com, buy a Sony Ericsson t610 phone. It takes pictures and it has Bluetooth and it syncs very well with iSync. And with the 200 dollar rebate- the phone is free. And somehow I imagine the pictures the Sony phone takes are as good as this crappy camera discussed here...

Why bother with Blink ?

There are so many really good cameras out there - why bother with this silly toy? OK, so it's cheap, but that seems to be the predominant mindset of the company that makes this camera.

My guess is only windows people have low enough standards for anything that takes pictures this awful.

Not being able to use it is like being told you can't drive a Trabaunt.
