how has marketshare done? is it higher? if so, by how much? 1%? ha ha
Worldwide it's slightly under 2% and in the US it's quite a bit better. The main problem is that even when Apple slightly grows how many units they sell they still lose marketshare because the rest of the industry is still growing faster.
I was thinking notebook marketshare was pretty strong and obviously the iPod is holding it's own in it's industry. The desktop market is pretty tough to crack.
this market share is just RIPE to have a 10-15 % increase.
...I can't take seriously the Mac reporting of a site whose advertising recommends "Registry Mechanic" to me while I'm reading their Macintosh news with Safari.

*Sales* share is about 2-3% last year. At least Wintel PCs are not becoming totally obsolete after 9 months (as opposed to Macs, where the lifespan is still 3-4 *usable* years).
So, if sales share is the number of machines sold every year, and that number is 2-3%, and Macs last 4-5 times longer, that means that the *actual* marketshare is 8-15%, which is actually very close to what some companies are seeing for new cross-platform software sales.
