I have seen this popping up with some people as well, but my fan on my 12" Powerbook is on a lot now, it does not turn off, and I am surfing the web and playing itunes, never used to happen so much before, its annoying. I sent feedback to apple already, anyone else who has this should as well, I am sure its a quick fix.

Boots reeeeaaaaaallllllll slow now. Spinner on gray screen spins longer, blue screen sits longer and the previously mentioned menu writing with finder fading in behind that. Haven't seen any other problems except that I am running Panther on a rev a Wallstreet and I had to switch out the RageProGA and .kext updates with 10.2.5 files to get the psychadelic graphics effects to go away.

10.3.2. still hasn't fixed one irritating bug in Mail. If you drag a attachment (ie MS Word) to the desktop it will be read-only. If, however, you use the "Save All" button it is read-write. Come one Apple - fix it!

this is a total guess, but I remember the first time I booted into panther it seemed slower than jaguar but then sped up over time. I think this may be due to Panther's automatic defragmentation. Panther automatically figures which files are being used most frequently and puts it on faster portions of the disk, as well as defrags commonly used files < 20 MB. So maybe older files are in those locations and Pantehr needs to optimize itself out.

Yep, still makes garbage characters in Safari. Mail hasn't been running long enough for it to happen... YET. I sure wish Apple would fix the font mess. Some fonts print fine in some applications, not at all in others.

Other than that, 10.3.2 works okay. The first reboot was a bit pokey, but I've seen that generally with System updates. I reboot so rarely, it's not much of an issue.

Optimizing refers to updating prebindings, I believe.

I have the same problem in Safari when running Suitcase. Turning it off solves the issue but I work in an Ad Agency and we're tied to Suitcase for font management.

Another solution, of course, is to use Internet Explorer instead.

Yeah, you may be right. Boot is still slow but actual operation is quick. Prefpane for system prefs is losing custom icons on top now(wireless config). Safari 1.1.1--wherever it came from, fixed a slow scroll bug.

Well, thankfully, this update fixed the issue with NVIDIA GeForceMX 4 cards not working if you had more than 256MB or RAM in a Sawtooth. Woohoo!

my geforce4Ti is actually acting like its supposed to, FAST!!! Thanks Apple.

My Halo performance jumped from 55 fps up to 67 fps after the update. I ran the time demo before and after, noting that it updated the ATI drivers. I am running a Dual 2GHz G5 with stock 9600.

What do you mean quickly? They broke the battery on many computers in 10.2.x somtehing. Quickly being fixed is an update a week later. Not four months.

Boot was slow on the first reboot... fine after that. Just like with the last update.

Looks like we'll be seeing another bug fix (I hope) soon. The fan on my PB 12" now runs all the time, not just at temps over ~145 degrees.

My Sawtooth G4 with Nvidia GeoForce4 MX 32mb works now. The graphics intensive screensavers look amazing and the desktop pics actually fade before switching pics. However, switching from one user to another in 'Fast User Switching' is still clunky and the cube animation doesn't happen. Maybe I need a card with more VRAM? The animation doesn't matter, but it would be nice if everything worked (and I could show it off to my PC-using friends). Through DVI my monitor looks amazing (Samsung SyncMaster 172T 17" LCD).

This killed my performance in Halo on a 12" PB.

Was getting 29FPS in 640x480 with Vertex shaders and med settings, now it gets 25Fps. Anyway I can revert back to the 10.3 drivers? I did same them from another machine before updating that one but when I replaced them on the 12" it gave me some whacked error that the files weren't originals.

Why did you buy the 12" if you were going to play such a hog of a game? You should have purchased the AIEN SUPER-GAMING Computer. Then you would get 125 fps or something sick like that.

Macs are not gaming machines. Simple.

BTW: I love my 17" Powerbook, it is amazing.

G5 Dual 2Ghz takes almost 3 times longer to boot.
shut down is faster though.

My clock and battery meter have all dissappeared from the menu bar. I have tried switching them off and on but they don't show. iMote still shows its icon...

Still having problems with internal modem disconnects.
I have a G4 Power Mac purchased less than a year ago.
Whenever I'm trying to pay my bills using the internet, my computer after paying one bill, disconnects and hangs up. That is, t computer says disconnecting, disconnecting, disconnecting and never disconnects. After about 20 minutes the computer finally disconnects. Why???? The only way for me to get back on is to reboot.
