Intelli Innovations today introduced the , a multi-functional, flexible USB barcode scanner built for both tethered and portable use. Users can use the product at their desk as a wired reader that will enter barcode values into any Mac application, then snap on the included battery pack and take it to locations away from their computer. The Scanabout stores up to 3000 barcodes in its integrated memory chip, then allows the user to upload the stored values to their Mac by simply pressing a button. The $600 scanner works with both Mac OS 9/X.
The scanner features plugin plug-and-play operation complete compatibility with any Mac application (e.g., FileMaker Pro, AppleWorks, Microsoft Office), an included battery pack, customizable end-of-scan character, advanced data editing capabilities to modify incoming barcode data to conform to application expectations, and both its ProInventory and xTagger software.
ProInventory easily tracks inventory lists by recording product information, size, color, pricing, and stock. ProInventory includes support for multiple inventory tracking sheets, built-in Excel reporting capabilities, and customizable list views. xTagger software creates and prints asset tags and book label graphics for easy tracking of inventory, books, and rental items.
The scanner offers support for popular barcode symbologies: UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13, Code 39, Codabar, Pharmacode, Industrial 2of5, Interleaved 2of5, Code 93,Code 128, EAN 128, Plessey. It also offers an ntegrated, error-checking decoder that validates scanning and accuracy of barcodes.
