metaobject has released version 4.3 of its PDF compression tool for Mac OS X. Version 4.3 of now also tackles edit-data left in PDF files by applications such as Adobe Photoshop--removing this data can make files up to 10 times smaller, according to the developer. PdfCompress optimizes PDF files by applying specialized image compression and also can downsample images to a lower resolution suitable for screen-viewing. It also offers support for Mac OS X services under v10.2.4 or later. Pricing is $27.
