Aladdin today released . Version 8 includes faster compression, DropStuff filters, new access to newsgroup and Windows formats .yenc and .cab, and integrated HTML help. StuffIt Standard Edition includes StuffIt Expander, DropStuff, DropZip, and DropTar, to easily create and access email attachments and other compressed files. Full versions are $50, while upgrades are $30.

Buggy Upgrade
I upgraded asap. Big mistake. Once I upgraded, I couldn't use any apps unstuffed with version 8. This happened with Vuescan and other products as well. I was able to confirm with the author of Vuescan that he has received similar reports from users. He said that Stuffit Deluxe Version 8 is failing to register the apps it unstuffs as executable. I've sent a message to Aladdin last week and have received no response at this point. I would recommend not upgrading until Aladdin responds to the problem.
