Iomega today announced that it is shipping a new generation of , the Mini 512MB USB 2.0 Drive ($200) and the Mini 1GB USB 2.0 Drive ($380). The new solid-state devices use USB 2.0 for dramatically higher performance: up to 9MB/sec. in reading files and 7MB/sec in writing files. Iomega's current Mini 128MB ($70) and 256MB ($110) USB drives have also been updated to the new USB 2.0 standard, with performance of approximately 8MB/sec (read) and 5MB/sec (write). They are compatible with Mac OS 8/9/X.
