Shapiro Consulting has announced its new Photoshop plugin for Mac OS 9/X, which will ship next month. It can perform color changes without time-consuming masks and features 16-bit per component internal processing--even on 8-bit images. Users can "make near perfect selections based on the HSL components of the image and then very accurately adjust the HSV and RGB/CMYK components of that selection. Asiva's curves also allow for filter roll-offs so all effects appear completely natural and a built in Color Sampler Tool provides a good starting-point for setting the three curves."

    truly one of the greats

As a long time user of Asiva Photo Software, I welcome their introduction of Asiva Shift+Gain to the daunting arena of photoshop plugins. In a market filled with claims that their software works flawlessly without masks or cumbersome paths, Asiva's software stands above the pack, triumphantly. As many times as their software has saved my butt on a retouching job, I hope that others will give their entire family of plug-ins a chance-- it will be well worth it.
