today introduced its Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks ($40), which uses an ultra-slim, key-sized USB receiver for connectivity. The compact, ambidextrous design sports an elegant silver finish, employs an optical sensor to track movement, remains connected to its receiver unit when unplugged, and uses 27MHz Fast RF Cordless technology for connectivity up to six feet away. It features three programmable buttons, including a middle button that also serves as a scroll wheel. It has a five-year limited warranty and is compatible with Mac OS 8/9/X.

    Bluetooth

But not Bluetooth, meaning you need to carry and plug the adapter. The perfect mouse is not out yet.

FWIW, the perfect mouse would be the Logitech cordless mouse for laptops, but Bluetooth and sold without an adapter at $35.

    > sorta like this one? (MX900)

Only smaller and cheaper. The MX900 has the same footprint as the MX700 and it's pretty huge to carry with a 12" laptop. And the MX900's charging station needs a power supply, whereas MacAlly's charging station *is* a power supply. And I don't need it to be a Bluetooth receiver, I already have one.
