MacNN reader Alex Koralewski has updated his for the latest 12" and 17" PowerBooks from Apple: "As you may recall, I've released the unofficial firmware for the PowerBook SuperDrive to enable DVD-RW and boost CD-R/DVD-R speeds to 16x/2x, respectively. I've now made the downgrades available for not only the 15/12" but also for the 17" PowerBook. This is good news for those who don't want to void their warranty but want 16x cd burning speed, as well as the 17" powerbook owners who want that option to back out just in case."
