    and...

am i going to have to start plugging my 3 button mouse into the back of the computer like a knuckle-dragging PS/2 user?

One comment that's been made to apple for two decades: a three button mouse... c'mon, just give me a freakin three button mouse already!

    Still only one button?

This whole 'Mac users only need one button' c*** really makes me mad! Two buttons and a scroll wheel please! I won't be buying this just on principal.

    on principle?

I don't see what principle is involved: if it doesn't meet your needs, you shouldn't buy it (on principle or otherwise). There are plenty of third parties supplying mice and keyboards. What's the big deal if Apple's only has one button? It's not like there's any shortage of 2-3-4-5-6 button models supplied by third parties.

    Does it still...

Does it still support USB from the keyboard? I can understand it not providing power, but are the ports still there? Do they work when it's not plugged in?

    I notice ...

... they are STILL not using the term "Pro" (as in "Pro Keyboard" and "Pro Mouse") anymore. Interesting.

    Re: Principle

Why would Apple choose to limit sales by stubbornly refusing to provide more than one button? I find it completely absurd. Yes, I will be purchasing a logitech setup but I would buy the Apple solution if only they could provide what I (and I suspect, the vast majority of computer users) want. Two bloody buttons and a scroll wheel! How hard can it be? You can't honestly tell me that one button is more productive or that two buttons are too confusing - can you?

    Yeah it's ridulous

Ever since Apple rolled out contextual menus in OS 8 (or was it 8.1) they should have had a two (or more) button mouse. It's like some weird stubborn pride issue with them. Most Mac users don't even know about contextual menus because of the missing button.

    3 buttons

I would never buy a 3 button mouse.
    Fiddly, litte, rsi-inducing monsters.
Much nicer using keyboard modifiers and much easier to teach to a new user.
Have you ever tried teaching a newbie the difference between a left and a right click?

I love the smaller footprint of the new keyboard. I think it looks great.

I understand Apple's position on the one-button mouse. It really is much easier for newbie users to get the hang of. I don't think anyone could say that there is a more elegantly designed mouse than Apple's crystal droplet. However, it would be great if they would offer a 2-button/scroller variation IN ADDITION to the current one-button model. The perfect compromise.
