WiebeTech today introduced its and its companion ForensicUSB2 Case, "the world's first" forensic readers featuring FireWire 800 and USB2: "Forensic Case allows users to capture evidence in the field much more quickly using either FireWire 800 or USB 2.0 interfaces. It also fully supports legacy FireWire 400 and USB interfaces,‰ said James Wiebe, CEO of WiebeTech." The Forensic Case can also convert between field mode (with protective drive cover removed) and office mode (with protective cover attached) in less than 60 seconds. The $450 FireWire version features a single FireWire 800 port as well as 2 standard FireWire ports--all of which are write-blocked. The USB 2.0 version is $400.
