Iconfactory announces iPulse 2.0, new pricing

The Iconfactory has announced that its Mac OS X system monitoring utility, , is currently in beta testing. It will feature over 30 "new and compelling" features, including complete system reporting, mobility gauges and the addition of iPulse skins or "Jackets" for increased customization. iPulse 2.0 is being repriced at $13; however, customers who purchase iPulse 1.0 today will receive a free upgrade when the upgrade ships in the next 60 days. A preview of iPulse v2.0 features is available now.

    If you think that the application is "pointless," I'll respect your opinion. It is true that everything it presents can be found elsewhere without the need for a program that costs money.

    On the other hand, I love the way it presents all of that information to me in a simple graphical form that takes very little desktop space. The default settings were a little cluttered for my tastes, but easilly fixed in the preferences. (I don't need another clock, for example.)

    Now any time my computer's performace slows down, I can figure out in a glance what to look into. This is the only application (other than Virex) that I have my computer set to run every time I log in. I thought it worth the $10.

    That's my $0.02.
