Sonnet debuts 700MHz G4 ZIF upgrade

Sonnet today announced its for ZIF-based Power Macs. The $350 upgrade uses Motorola's PowerPC 745X chips with 256K L2 and 1MB L3 cache. As with Sonnet's 1.0GHz G4 upgrade ($500) announced earlier this year, it is compatible with Beige G3 Power Macs, and Sonnet says that "further announcements regarding compatibility with Blue & White and G4 PCI Graphics systems for these speeds are expected in the coming weeks." Sonnet also lowered the price of its 500MHz G4 upgrade by $50 to $250.
