IDG World Expo today confirmed that the will take place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) July 12-15, 2004. Macworld Conference & Expo spent 13 of its 19 years in Boston before relocating to New York City in 1998. On October 17, 2002, IDG World Expo announced plans for the event's 2004 return to Boston to be held in the new BCEC. David Korse, president of IDG World Expo, said, "While there was some uncertainty about the event coming to Boston after the successful launch of Macworld CreativePro in New York this summer, we have decided to continue the Macworld tradition on the East Coast as originally planned."

Now THIS is the MacWorld we grew to love. Good for them. Besides, in Boston, you can actually tell when you're in a neighborhood that can get you into trouble. Of course, by next summer you may think the Hub is MoleWorld for all the underground driving you're going to have to do...

Tour de Boston

I can take you on a tour of Boston where you'll see neighborhoods where you're safe as kittens for as long as you please, as well as places I wouldn't put down my lunch for a half a moment. IN NYC except for disneyla^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H Times Square, you pretty much just assume you're 30 seconds from trouble...

Boston vs NY

The great thing about New Yorkers is the fact that when we read silly comments about our city we actually feel good about it. It means less sissy's we gotta deal with.

Oh and enjoy your expo... New York and Apple have got no interest.

August 29 - 13:23 EDT   In a statement provided to MacMinute on Friday, Apple reiterated that it will not participate in Macworld Expo Boston. "When IDG initially announced its plans to move summer Macworld to Boston in 2004, we were very clear that we didn't think it was a good move," Apple said in the statement. "Our position stands and Apple will not be participating in Macworld Boston. We are 100 percent committed to Macworld San Francisco in January every year." The statement follows IDG's announcement that Macworld would indeed by moving to Boston in 2004.

Yeah for MacWorld Boston

But Apple is being an a**. I have not been able to go to the expo sence 98 when it moved. I was pissed then, then I got excited when the boston announcement came, then stunned when Apple rejected Boston. Its as if Boston was some eveil city that will destroy Apple. All I can say is this has to be because of Jobs. I don't like him very much right now.

NOTHING without Apple

08/29, 04:11pm reply

These MacWorld Expos are nothing without Apple participation. I don't know why IDG thinks they can have a successful MacWorld without the creator of the Mac. Oh well, I guess we'll be seeing more product announcements at events like WWDC like we did this year. Job's owns!
