I can't wait for school to start. You kids are bored, restless, and in need of diversions.

    Stores in the south?

This great and all... but where the h*** are the stores in the south?

Why is it that if you live in the south, you have to drive three frickin states to get to a store?

Why does New Orleans not have a store?

    three already

Actually, it will be the FOURTH Apple Store -- joining Woodfield, Oakbrook and N. Michigan.

Old Orchard is a natural location for an Apple Store -- near Northwestern and Loyola Universities as well as the moneyed North Shore.

    South being redeveloped

Woohoo, we are gettin our own Apple Store in Richmond! This place has been dry gulch for years, with terrible little dinky Mac shops that have employee turnover worse than a McDonald's! McPro, BWAHAHAHA!

Head on back to the business park dudes, doubt you'll be selling anything but *cough* consultation and *sneer* service (wait, scratch service, you've just lost your top techs due to your shifty business practices and anti-employee attitudes). Can the fat guy still not give an iMovie demo, y'know, the one who's the "Video Specialist"?

The reason the South has such a slim number of Apple stores is really obvious - the South is JUST now getting breakdancing, so things are MUCH slower there. Those Brother™ word processor things just hit the OfficeMax's below the Mason-Dixon, so the demand for computers really isn't quite there yet. I think most of the northern schools have been sending their old LC's and II GS's to North Carolina, so they've got enough compute power to last them at least another 10 years. N'awlins, y'all got yer Harrah's, take it one step at a time!

    re: Stores in the south?

maybe their market research doesn't see them being too successful in the southern portion of the US. or maybe they just believe that the south is filled with a bunch of inbread hillbillys who wouldn't even know what to do with a computer. i tend to believe that it is the former. the latter just seems preposterous.
