Wired: Apple innovation offers amazing value

Wired Magazine writes about Apple's innovation and its potential such as Disney and Sony: "Like a comet that passes Earth every few years, Apple Computer consistently comes out of the blue with products that alter the trajectory of the technology business and leave observers rubbing their eyes in amazement. [However], The biggest impediment to any potential corporate benefactor is also Apple's single biggest asset, cash pile [$4.5 billion] notwithstanding: Steve Jobs."

>Speculating on suitors for Apple is a time-honored parlor game. With every downturn in its fortunes, pundits note that Apple has a hoard of cash - $4.5 billion today - which makes the company's $7 billion market cap mouthwateringly cheap.
LOL This again?
I can't believe we even suffer to listen to this. Apple can be so creative BECAUSE it is so independent. If it owed some allegance to Sony, don't ya think Sony would push it one way or another? Apple is innovative because of it's lack of ties, not because of them. It's like the friend who writes great poetry right after breaking up.
The Electronics industry owes Apple - Apple developed friendly computers that let more people get into the electronics. Lets face it - it's a lot easier to stare down a huge EQ board after seeing that friendly Mac OS face.
And the Entertainment industry? Half thier product is developed on Macs. Could you imagine Pixar generating 'Finding Nemo' if they had to restart for an hour a day due to crashing?
The best these two industries, with Sony and Disney at their helms, is to protect Apple, and LET them innovate.
