    Who?

Who the h*** is Connectix? Is this some code name for another one of Bill Gate's moves to try to dominate everything out there? Who is next Adobe? And then Macromedia?

    Are you serious?

Connectix is the company who has been responsible for developing Virtual PC. But now they have sold out to Microsoft.

    VPC

We won't need it with the G5. It will do it for each PC program A-LA-CARTE. No Windose needed.

No, the G5 won't be able to run Windows programs natively. That is something that has to be built into the operating system itself, as in Mac OS X.

Supposedly, Apple is working on technology for release in future versions of the Mac OS that let Windows programs run alongside Mac programs in a sort of transparent-emulated environment (like Classic Mode, only more elegant) but this is not processor-dependent at the moment. It just has to be written into the software.

    It'll never Happen...

and here's why... Apple spends millions trying to get people to develop for the Mac. Most of the larger programs run on both platforms and some, like Adobe Premiere are going to windows only. If Macs run Windows programs natively, what is the incentive to develop for the Mac? The developers dont care about increased performance. If it will run on your computer at all, they won't continue developing for Mac.

Actually, it has to be done at the chip level. If the chip can't process intel instructions, then its not 'native'. Everything else would be emulation of some sense.
