Microsoft Exchange Update for Entourage X

The MacBU's Exchange solution will offer Entourage X users who work in a mixed PC and Mac environment several enhancements to its communication, information management and scheduling features, including:



  • Scheduling. The ability to view other Exchange users' free and busy times for greater convenience when trying to schedule meetings or events.

  • Directory service lookup. Allows for searching of global address lists.
  • Offline use. Offers the ability to synchronize the Entourage X calendar and address book with the Exchange server for offline use.

  • Improved text rendering. E-mail received from users of Outlook for Windows will feature better readability.




"We're thrilled to offer the Exchange update. This is one of the most popular requests we've received since launching Office v. X and we're pleased to give our customers their top feature request. This will give Entourage X users cross-platform compatibility in an e-mail client designed to meet their needs," said Jessica Sommer, product manager for the MacBU.

But can it schedule/reserve resources? Probably not. The Outlook they had for Mac couldn't do it.

This says it can READ calanders. Can you write to your own calander? It doesn't say that. I sure hope so.

I hope the Global address list works.

The calendar better work well so I can sync it with my T610. If this release is better then the PC version then we will have a chance at 5% market share if not. Apple get iCal to work with exchange asap.
