    One more thing...

I hate best buy. All they try and do is sell the extended warrenty. Drives me nuts. If the product needs an extended warrenty must be a peice of junk.

BUY ON-LINE! Only way to go.

    FP!

First post! Woo hoo! (sorry, never got here before).

Anyway, my only reaction to this is simply: "here we go again."

Expect lying salesmen. Expect acrimonious relationships between the CC people and the Apple rep.

BB is a terrible place to buy NON-COMMODITY electronics. Selling the iPod was a good idea, and selling ONE or TWO models of Mac would be a good idea (like the eMac and the G5 -- low end and high end ONLY).

Maybe with an Apple rep there it will be okay, but I have some experience with this and I can honestly say I'm not expecting much.

    stop

This should NOT be allowed at all, why have apple stores when this is allowed? You know it will just end up like what happens to all the other non-apple stores. Someone needs to be fired over this.

    bull...

Any place that has as much foot traffic that, and is carrying Apple product is good. AS LONG as it is represented well (in store apple employee)

Yeah! Until the people stroll to the software aisle, and sees just 6 boxes of software on the shelves, and says to themselves "Geesh, there's 6 aisles worth of PC software, and not even 1/2 row of Mac software. There's no software for the Mac. I'm getting a PC.

    hmmmm....

    Regarding the first post:
The Apple extended warranty is excellent and does not mean it's a bad machine.
Although I realize you are refering to the best buy warranty.

My only fear about BestBuy is the reps who won't know a whole lot about Macs, and in any ways will compete with Comp Usa and other Apple stores

The reps will learn about Apple computers, just like they learn about HP, Compaq, etc. They are non-commissioned sales people, so why would they give a s*** if you bought an Apple or a PC?
I used to work for Best Buy, and believe me, we all directed the customer to what product was best for their application. At least those of us in the computer department. As for audio, most of those bloodsuckers came from commissioned jobs and were in the habbit of selling the most expensive item they could, no matter the customer's needs.

I used to fix many, many, many computers as this was before Best Buy had a computer service department. One of the main reasons I use an Apple. I know better. So, don't you think people will be noticing how many PC's are being fixed and so few Apples?

Win:Win:Win, for us, for Apple, for Best Buy.

Apple grows, so therefor more development and support from software developers.

ADOBE, Discreet, Alias, are you watching this?
    I hope so.
