Apple has updated the firmware of all Macs so that they don't work with Formac's DVD package. Users will now have to buy a new Mac with a SuperDrive and iDVD, as usual.

    That's just BS!!!

I got a new G4 without superdrive and the devideon works fine. Anyway, it's not Apple's firmware that decides if the software works or not, but Formac firmware recognition of the FireWire bridge in the drive.

    Formac Blows

Fantastic....worthless in two months. Formac's commitment to customers that have already purchased their products makes Sony look like Linnux.

    100% stupid comments

Four messages above, and four messages that offer no useful information. A perfect score! Are MacNN readers illiterate, drunk or what? Over at Slashdot.org, such people are called 'anonymous cowards'. Maybe I'll switch to Linux just to be in intelligent company.

I have an investment in Mac technology and in Formac. If you have something informative to say about this topic, please do. I'm hoping that the Devideon software will become a practical alternative to iDVD.

    thanks
