Palm today introduced the handheld with integrated Bluetooth and voice-recorder capabilities as well as 32MB SDRAM (29.5MB user available) of memory--twice that of the original Tungsten, a high-resolution 320x320 TFT display, Palm OS v5.2.1, and new MP3, video playback, and photo software. The Palm Tungsten T2 handheld is expected to cost $400. Also effective today, Palm announced the price reduction of two current handhelds. The Palm m130 handheld is reduced from $200 to $180, and the Palm m515 handheld is reduced from $300 to $250.

    why use 5.2?

it allows for more memory intenerally, which you can't have.

    that's it.

why do you care about 5.2? you should care about palm OS 6 :)

and, unlike sony, you can sync your Palm devices with your mac without third party software.

    5.2!

Not only do you get 32MB of ram, but you get that super s*** screen that is on the Zire 71. Go read some reviews of the Z71 - you'll understand.

Also - palm 5.2 gives you grafiti 2 so you can write directly on the screen.

This is perfect as I wanted the TT for the sweet design, but it seemed like less of a pda (screen wise) compared to the Z71. I didn't really want the camera so this is just the ticket.

    NICE!!

    No thanks

Palm sucks...for $100 less I can get a smaller, faster PocketPC with 2x the memory.

(wait for it...here comes the wrath of the mac fanboys: "pocket pc sucks, MS sucks," etc etc)

palm 5.2 gives you grafiti 2 so you can write directly on the screen.

Right, something the competitor (PocketPC, Newton, Zaurus, etc) had since day 1. Palm sucks.

    re-no thanks

I'm a MacFanBoy, as you say and for the life of me, I can't see why you would want to be haunted by Windows when you are safely away from a PC and on the go? Having a PocketPC is like carrying around a boat anchor...they're both ugly, have only one function and will end up in the bay one day. Stop embarrassing your self; get rid of the Pocket PC. You deserve better. Maybe then, girls will like you. (I'm sorry for the last line).

    PocketPC

Sure, you could always get more memory from a PocketPC than other platforms. That's because you always NEEDED it. Palm's software run on much smaller footprints... no flame, just the facts.
