Miglia debuts FireWire 800 PCI card

Miglia Technology today announced the Alchemy FW 800 PCI card, a new FireWire/IEEE 1394b card with support for FireWire devices with transfer speeds up to 800 Mbps (under Mac OS X 10.2.4 or later). The card features the latest Texas Instrument chipset as well as dual connectivity: two of the three FireWire ports offer the new 9-pin standard, while the remaining port uses the 'old-style' 6-pin connector. The Alchemy FW 800 PCI will ship in the first week of August for $100. The product carries a full 2 year RTB warranty. All ports function as standard FireWire ports under Mac OS 9.

FireWire Depot (http://www.fwdepot.com) was the first company to start shipping 1394b products (enclosures, pci cards, cables, etc) months ago, plus they have added a second style 1394b PCI card and additional products to their 1394b product lineup
