    Excellent

It's great to see that Apple is taking security seriously and issuing fixes in a reasonable timeframe. It shows that security is important and that the company is committed to fixing problems as quickly as possible.

    Nice to see.

It's nice to see such a quick response to a security bug that wasn't even all that threatening as anything you see on the Windows side of things. Good job Apple.

    Ok...

*smack* I'm not big on buttkissing, but keeping abreast of security issues is a big deal these days, and Apple seems to be doing their part.

    realistic

I much prefer a company that delivers speedy security fixes with little fanfare than one that touts "Trustworth Computing" while holding back band-aid fixes to a fundamentally flawed OS.

    Slow software update?

Is software update running painfully slow for anyone else? I picked today to re-vamp my dad's computer - need to download 100+ megs from Apple and getting between 5 - 10 kb/s on a high speed cable line. I get 170 kb/s downloading large files from other web sites.

    Re: Slow software update?

It was just fine for me. Downloaded at around 600 kb/s which is normal for me (I am very close (only a few short quick hops) to an akamai server).

    What?

All those saying "whipdedoo" for apple.
    Suck an egg.

I just had to download about 100 megs of updates for Windows XP.

    That's total BS:

Now I just get this update from apple.
I feel like it is nothing in comparison.
