iTunes Music Store for Canada in the Fall?

updated 08:00 am EDT, Mon July 14, 2003

", 0, 0);

The Globe and Mail reports that the iTunes Music Store may be as early as this Fall, after the CRIA" completes negotiations to set up a framework for paying music publishers and composers whose music is downloaded on pay-for-play system. That will allow Canadian-based services to start operations, he said, and allow U.S. systems such as Apple Computer Inc.'s iTunes 'music store' to expand into Canada."

    What about

    Nepal???? Is Steve Jobs in some kind of deal with the Dalai Lama to not bring the ITMS to us until he's allowed to return? This is just so bogus!

    They are such winers...

    What does that mean? That many canadians make wine? Maybe they drink wine? You certainly can't mean "whiners", as Americans (that's you all in the USA) are the biggest whiners out there. "Waaah! Iraq's not doing what we want! Let's make them!" "Waaah! We lost the olympic gold in basketball. Let's use pros now!" "The french aren't doing what we want them to. Waaah! Let's boycott their goods and call 'French Fries' 'Freedom Fries'. That'll show them!" "Gas prices are too high it costs me $50 to fill up my gas-guzzling SUV! Waaah! Let's drill for oil in an arctic preserve!" "My father's really rich, but when he dies, I'll have to pay so much "death" taxes on his money, I might have to go out and work for a living. Waaah! Let's eliminate estate taxes!" "North Korea is trying to make nuclear weapons! Waaah! We can't let that happen, as WE should be the only ones with nukes. You can trust us. Really you can. We're not the kind of country that will start a war unprovoked. We'll always prove provocation first, even if we have to make it up!"

    Levy

    So how will they deal with the levy canadian's already pay for the rights to burn audio CD's? This has been already discussed in the forums.. I wonder what the official stance from Apple, the RIAA (does it have a canadian counterpart?) and the Fed's will be.

    Read the response post again, you smug little prick. The poster referred to Canadians in the third person, using "they". It wasn't posted by a Canadian.

    So you didn't make any Canadian whine. Sorry to rain on your little one-person parade.

    Mmm...wine

    I could go for some wine right about now. Maybe some nice Okanagan wine. Or maybe some 'Freedom' wine?
