Memorex offers 'printable' CD-Rs

Memorex announced today the first . Printable discs allow users to print directly on the surface of specially prepared CD-R media using affordable ink jet printers available at retail stores nationwide. Unlike an ordinary blank disc, a printable disc comes with a porous surface that absorbs printer ink. Memorex offers CD-R discs that are rated at 48X, and offer 80 minutes of audio record time and 700 MB of data storage. A 30-pack spindle of Memorex Ink Jet Printable CD-Rs is available for $15.
