WebEx MediaTone Network supports Mac OS X

updated 07:20 pm EDT, Tue June 24, 2003

WebEx has enhanced the communication capabilities of the to include support for Mac OS X. The WebEx network supports live data, voice and video communications and allows users to hold interactive meetings through a standard browser (currently IE and Netscape). Mac OS X is currently supported in WebEx Meeting Center and Event Center. Support for Mac OS X in the Support Center and Training Center services will be provided later in 2003. Other limitations in Mac OS X include latency during presentation from a Mac OS X system, the inability to share a presentation/document using Meeting Manager for OS X, and the lack of a WebEx recorder for Macs (although a playback version does exist).
