I can't find anything anywhere on what it costs!!

    Is is free?

Do I just go to an Apple store and pick one up/

Apples own webpage doesn't mention ANYTHING about how to get one!!

    huh

What kind of moronic "pro" user would need this?

Are you freaking people blind to a margin building marketing ploy? Good for Apple's bottom line and little else!

    Free?

I was at an Apple Store for the broadcast yesterday, and I believe this service is being offered FREE to entice people to pre-purchase the G5.

    Reliability

It gives the impression that the G5 is less reliable and NEEDS a Mac Genius to help you.

Like all "Extended Service Plans" it is over 90% profit for the company.

    Looks pretty...

... but I wouldn't touch it. What kind of pro-user needs their files transferred for them, or software installed? Why not call it a 'newbie-card'? 'Clueless-card'?

    i don't need it but...

I'd love to have this card in my wallet.... i can't buy a G5 this year, or next, but I want that card.. it's cool stuff. I'll have to stop by my Apple store on the way home.

    Heh Heh.

Yeah because you all are so adept at cloning your Mac OS X computers without any hickups.

You know there are some people that learn skills such as audio or video production and not UNIX command line to get real work done on their G4s. And when they get their G5 they don't want to spend days repairing permissions, reinstalling software in different orders they want to get back to WORK.

This is a great idea, but it will p/o the consults as this is their bread and butter (and Apple has historically stayed clear of stepping on VAR's toes, well up until the Apple Stores and the Genius Bar).

Notice that you must GO to Apple to get the work done, no one comes to your office/studio/home office to help you. I guess consultants are still safe, for now.

Mroe elitist cred for Apple nonetheless. Bah, who cares its our turn to gloat you Wintel powerLUSERS. Heehee.
