Several readers point to what are described as "early screenshots of 'Panther'", the next version of Mac OS X (v10.3) expected to debut at Apple's WWDC next week and ship in September. The screenshots include the Finder, System Preferences, Activity Monitor, DVD Player, Expose 1, Expose 2, Folder Menu, Folder Actions, iChat Video options, Labels, and Mail. Update: the screenshots can also be found . [Apple has not officially released any information and/or screenshots, and it is not yet confirmed if these are real; the primary link was unaccessible at of 11:55 pm ET and the screenshots at the mirror site were taken down at the request of Apple legal.]

    Re: Give it up.

My feelings exactly. I guess I have to be on Mac sites 24hrs a day. My regular 10 or so visits a day only result in stories of pictures that have been removed. I bet there are regular user's out there informing Apple of these leaks. How else is their legal department catching on so quick?

    Nice job

Looks great. I hope it is much speedier than Jag. Microshaft will have a lot of catching up to do, not that they care.

    Where's the stripes?

They appear to be absent. I have to say I've come to like them, even though every man and his dog has copied them for their website/software/brochure.

It would be nice to get smaller controls i think. The buttons always seemed a bit large (certainly on my 12" pb!)

    Looking forward to today's webcast...

    I'm so psyched

I love OS X. I like the more platinum-like appearance of Panther, too.

    No news is good news

It looks like no dramatic feature changes. That's actually good. I think that means they did more work under the hood than on the body. Time for a supercharged, possi traction 440 Hemi OS X with nitro!!!
