Blackmagic debuts DeckLink 4.0 beta for FCP 4

Blackmagic Design today announced the release of a public beta of software update for its family of uncompressed QuickTime video capture cards. DeckLink 4.0 adds support for RT Extreme, which brings support for realtime effects built into Final Cut Pro 4 (FCP 4). Version 4.0 also supports FCP's new multi channel audio features, offering up to 8 channels of simultaneou audio output to high end broadcast decks. Blackmagic DeckLink also features independent desktop output for use with non-QuickTime applications such as Adobe Photoshop and also includes full support for Adobe After Effects 16-bit RGB rendering, and Discreet Combustion quick capture and realtime RAM previews. Pricing for Decklink hardware starts at $1000. The software is a free update to all registered owners.
