New multi-purpose '' from Gefen (starting at $700) can function as video players, televisions and computer monitors. Currently available in 18- and 14-inch displays, each provides a radiation- and flicker-free flat panel that maintains a 1280x1024 resolution. Each sports a video input for VCR or camcorder connection, a digital input for VD players and a television tuner that requires a cable hookup or antenna. The monitors come with remote control, touch screen capability, built-in stereo speakers and picture-in-picture options.
