Epson Expression 1680 high-end scanner

Epson's new Expression 1680 is a 48-bit color scanner that offers true 1600 x 3200 dpi resolution using a 1600 dpi CCD sensor and its resolution-doubling Micro Step Drive technology. The scanner will ship in Febraury in four configurations, a stand alone Special Edition for $800 and Artist ($900), Pro, and Pro FireWire configurations, which ship with LaserSoft SilverFast Ai 5 scanning and imaging software, MonacoEZcolor color management, Photoshop LE, NewSoft Presto! PageManager for document management, and ScanSoft Textbridge Pro OCR. The $1150 Pro model additionally ships with the optional $300 transparency unit, while the $1400 Pro FireWire model also includes a $300 FireWire interface card.
