    The author...

...of the S***** article obviously doesn't use his iPod for anything but music. The largest iPod might be impossible to fill with music, but I use the iPod as an external HD and use the calender feature, the games, and other various things the other conveniently forgot to mention.

Way to go Michael Prager for looking like a complete dumbass.

    Breakout was first

"back from the original iPod is breakout (called "Brick" for some reason), which is a toned down version of the arcade original - Arkanoid."

Um, Breakout was first. Written by two guys named Steve for the old Atari arcade line, btw.

    I agree, though

... the old iPods were more 'Apple-like'. You could operate one with one hand without looking. Because of the four (very!) touch-sensitive buttons at the top of the iPod now, this is no longer possible.

    I agree too

I like the older ipods as well because:

    a) the button placement is intuitive around the circular touchpad

    b) the battery lasts longer

I'd rather have longer battery life than a slightly thinner case.

    Believe it or not...

"The author of the S***** article obviously doesn't use his iPod for anything but music. The largest iPod might be impossible to fill with music, but I use the iPod as an external HD and use the calender feature, the games, and other various things the other conveniently forgot to mention."

I've never owned or used an iPod, but if I did get one I can't say I would use it for anything more than music either. I have no use for any of the other features you mentioned, just like many people. Just because you use all of those (admittedly handy if you needed them) features doesn't mean everyone else on the planet does too. Think beyond your own house once in a while and look at the target audience for Apple and for the iPod - do you think *they* need calendar features and external hard drives?

    Now who's the complete dumbass?

"obviously doesn't use his iPod for anything but music"

Silly me, and all this time I thought that the iPod was touted as a *music* player! How silly of me!

"I use the iPod as an external HD and use the calender feature, the games, and other various things the other conveniently forgot to mention. "

Maybe you could use a dictionary feature for your iPod as well because your spelling skills are in dire need of assistance.

And incidentally, using the iPod as an external HDD and the Calendar (note spelling) are features that are available on the previous series and are not unique to the new revision.

"Way to go Michael Prager for looking like a complete dumbass. "

Actually, i think you've done a far better job of that.

    Old design is better

The old design is definitely better in terms of usability. I played with the new design extensively, then went out and bought one of the older ones. The new buttons are harder to use, too easy to accidently "push", and generally a case of "redesign just for the heck of it". The old design is clearly better in these areas.
