Wired News reports that Apple fixed a late last week that could have enabled attackers to hijack customers' accounts and place fraudulent orders: "The flaw, discovered by an anonymous Canadian security researcher who uses the nickname "Null," potentially allowed malicious users to change Apple Store customers' passwords and gain control of the victims' account data."

    Surprising

Surprising they even announced it. Usually companies fill them in and keep quiet. Wonder if an outside source found it (usually the only reason to announce it, because someone is going to anyway)? Or maybe they're trying to be up-front on known problems and solutions.....yeah, right, that's it!

    not often

It's not often Apple has these issues,
I'd like to think it's being "up front" about it.

this was found by an outside user, Apple wouldn't publicize it unless it FELT it had no other choice or the guy had already published the news elsewhere. Don't for one minute think that precious apple is being upfront for nothing, it is just "damage control for f****** up."

    MS Security Update ??

    Windows blows...

Don't worry. Microsoft gets the "Swiss Cheese Code Award"

There are so many holes in MS Windows it's kind of amusing.

    Macs are like rocks.

PC's are like eggs standing on their tips, just barely standing and extremely unstable at that.

So what MS security patch update version are those poor soles at today?!?

    - Buy a Mac and step in to Heaven.

    - Buy a PC and dive into h***.

    Good people use Mac's.

    Bad people use PC's.

    re: MS security update

With the introduction of OS X, Macs are becoming mor elike PCs. Get ready for viruses and constant updates.

    illusion of security

I think the main reason Macs feel more secure than their PC counterparts is that more people are trying to hack into PCs then Macs. If we had 95% of the world's hacker community focused on OS X, i think we'd see a lot more vulnerabilities exposed.
