Macway debuts new FireWire 800 drive line

French vendor Macway has announced its new lineup of , which it says offers transfer rates up to 61MB/s--up to 54% better performance when compared to previous FireWire 400 hard drives. "Macway is so confident in the exceptional performances of its new ICE FW800 lineup that it has published the first detailed Mac Benchmarks of FireWire 800 products on Apple's latest G4." It has also published the first ever RAID 0 benchmarks of FireWire 800 hard drives. The drives two 9-pin FireWire 800 ports, a single USB 2.0/1.1 port, and a standard 6-pin FireWire port for connectivity to legacy FireWire systems. It is available in 120GB, 160GB, 200GB, and 250GB versions.
