MacNN reader John Glasgow writes: "I haven’t seen a mention anywhere about the new Apple Store in (West Los Angeles) Santa Monica, CA on the 3rd. Street Promenade. I noticed the big black plywood construction fence with the white Apple logo last Saturday in the block just south of Wilshire Blvd."

Come on where is the Austin TX store? There is a huge technology center here with lots of Mac users - we need a store!

I live in santa monica, and the third block of the promanade sucks. It has almost no stores, and nobody goes there except for the homeless and the drug dealers.

110370 04/18, 12:39am, EDT But Austin has Fry's!
Seriously. If you want to learn about Macs, get a good book or go on the Web. You will find better help there than an underpaid Apple Store employee. If you want price, go online. If you want selection, go to Fry's.
If you want a high-priced boutique, well, then, you know where to go . . . god forbid if word gets out that there are more than 5 printers in the world that work with Macs though!
