    back on topic...

iCommune sucks. Doesn't work, at least for me. Adding a new collection results in the app crashing, clicking 'Share my music' results in a password dialog and then when the correct password is entered, nothing changes. POS.

I haven't used the software yet but then I rarely try ALPHA products because they crash A LOT. Sooner or later enough IDIOTS will download the alpha, complain about their crashes, and the author will hear and fix the problems. SO three cheers for the alpha downloading whiney idiots everyone!!!

    Hip hip hooray!!

    What's the point of this

If your computers are networked, simply go to iTunes and, with 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library' prefs -Unchecked, click 'Add to library'.

Bingo, you can play any song in your library even if your library is spread over multiple computers. Permission problem because the library is in a User's folder? Then just make aliases...

In fact I'm listening to songs in my 15GB music library on the iMac upstairs while I type this on my iBook (downstairs) which only has a 6GB hard drive, all through AirPort.

No muss, no fuss, no opening extra ports... and NO BUGGY THIRD PARTY APPS!

    nice one dude.....

    yeah thats cool and all...
but it means you have remote music muxed in with your local music.... you as an iBook user should know better than that....

+ what your talking about only works with your mac network...

+ using it over the internet would be next to impossible as you would have to share your drive..

    sure its buggy....IT AN ALPHA
