TechnoWarehouse today announced the 500MHz G4 upgrade for slot-loading iMacs. The features 1MB of backside cache running at 250MHz, offering up to a 55% improvement in some speed tests: "When customers place an order for the iTechDV G4 upgrade, TechnoWarehouse ships a box with a manual with motherboard removal instructions, anti-static wrist strap, antistatic bag for the motherboard, as well as a prepaid shipping box and label for sending the motherboard to TechnoWarehouse. Telephone and email support is readily available for those customers who have questions about the removal and shipping process." The estimated time for return of the upgraded motherboard is ten business days with options for expedited shipping available for an additional fee. The iTechDV G4/500 upgrade is available in the US for $300.
