Israel-made battery in Mac stirs feathers
updated 12:25 pm EDT, Mon April 14, 2003
The Gulf Daily News reports that "steps were taken by a distributor for Apple to ensure that after an Israeli-made battery was discovered by a customer in an old Apple Computer model. Apple Centre manager Asif Mohammed Irfan said the battery powers the calendar and clock of an old Apple G4 model but added that he didn't believe that it was sold in large numbers."

all PRAM batteries

are made in Israel. Only iBooks and TiBooks don't have PRAM batteries, but instead have a capacitor. As such only Apple's modern notebooks might make it past the border of those states worried about having Macs with parts made in Israel.

I mean really, there are people who care about such things? Next thing you know they'll be an uprising here in the states because the iPods breakout game was developed in France. Or that the iMacs were flown in from Taiwan on AirBus planes.

You ignorant s***. How can the inadvertent killing of less than 800 civilians over a 2+ year period by the strongest army in the Middle East ever be considered genocide? It's when idiots such as yourself exaggerate claims that words like genocide start to mean nothing. Whether you like it or not, Israel is fighting the exact same fight we are fighting, its just been fighting it for longer. You're a pretty gullible little moron; did you also believe the Iraqi Information Minister?
You don't have to agree with everything Israel does to realize that our long-term interests coincide. The Arab world has hated the U.S. long before support for Israel began in 1973. In fact, the Arab world blamed the U.S. for its failure in 1967 despite our refusal to help Israel and despite the fact that Kennedy's grain shipments at the time accounted for 60% of all the bread in Egypt.
This is a problem of failed modernity, of a violent reaction to the English, French, and Russian imperialism of the early 20th century. Bending over backwards to assign blame to Israel is pathetic, and it's gullible fools like you who encourage these xenophobes. So stop it.
Israel has one of the most advanced hi-tech industries in the world, boycotting it because you've fallen for the typical Arab propaganda is senseless.
