Users are no longer required to distribute changes made for personal use and are no longer required notify Apple when modifications are deployed. fix for audio on beige G3

did anybody ever send in the fix for this issue? IIRC it involved changing one line of code that wasn't properly detecting the audio hardware on some beige G3 models. There was a posting on the subject on Macintouch's OS X Beta report. I'm just curious to know if the fix ever made it into Apple's CVS tree.
