Umax to demo FireWire scanners at MWSF

UMAX Technologies will demonstrate several of its products at Macworld (booth #2125), including its Astra 6450, a consumer-oriented FireWire-connected scanner; the Astra 3450, a scanner with a built-in transparency cover; the AstraNET e5470, a high-resolution, direct-to-Internet scanner; and the PowerLook 1100, a FireWire scanner.

    scanner works

    But the software packaged with it is shite!

    Especially if you're in the "Rest of the World", ie outside the US, the software only handles US Letter paper sizes (despite what all the setup boxes appear to allow)

    does anyone know if Umax will be making scanner drivers for os x?

    yes there will be OS X drivers for Umax scanners.
    Probably should be available for download when full version of OS X starts shipping.
