OWC has already provided more than five years of Internet access in the Chicago-area through OWC's OWC.NET division. It is offered in Annual ($10 per month), Quarterly ($12/month), and Month-to-Month ($13/month) plans. Each plan provides users with up to 150 hours of connection time per month, five free e-mail addresses (@FasterMac.net), and 5MBs of free Web space.

    good but

150 hours per month? arent most ISPs giving unlimited for that price? 150hrs is about enough to download a point release update for OSX :-/

    Re: good but

There aren't many I know who are just $13 a month, let alone unlimited for that price. Keep in mind that 150 hours a month is approx. 5 hours a day, which is more than enough for most people. These kind of restrictions are stuck in to keep some cheapskates from using a cheap service for full-time internet access.

And $13 for 56K is a lot cheaper than the $49 earthlink charges me for DSL. Many people don't need the extra speed of broadband (not to mention many broadband users don't get dial-up with their account - esp. cable users).

    Good deal

OWC is offering a nice package here.
There are those who still use 56k, but that's ok so offering a better and MUCH lower priced service and a small but useful amount of space is a great little package.

    Nice work OWC.
hey it's either that or aol/eartlink at $23 a month.
anyone on line more than 5 hours a day (pissing around) needs a life.

    About those $9.99/month

... try getting Mac support out of them. Heh.

    Go OWC!

(I'm on broadband and can't imagine life without it, but then I'm a loser who's on 10+ hours a day. NORMAL people would do fine with OWC's service.)

    Juno

If you haven't noticed all those new Juno ads flashing on the mac rumors sites lately, Juno is $9.95 a month for unlimited dial up access for OS X users nationwide.

    150 hour limit

I have a 150 hour limit on my current ISP, but in 3 years have never reached that limit--and I spend more time online than I would admit to most of my friends. I would seriously rethink your priorities if you're upset with only being connected an average of 5 hours a day on a dialup connection.
There is a non-virtual world out there, folks. Stand in the sunshine. Breathe fresh air. Interact face-to-face with actual humans.
