MacMice today unveiled a new frosted version of its popular base stand for the Griffin Technology PowerMate USB controller. The new fully-frosted IceMate traps the blue light that the PowerMate emits, and displays it as a blue glow all around its surface. Both the original clear and the new frosted IceMate base stands for the PowerMate improve not only the good looks of the PowerMate, but add better ergonomics and better long-term resistance to the PowerMate sliding on a desk surface, according the the manufacturer. The $20 IceMate is machined from a solid billet of bead-blasted acrylic.
