i'm not that technically hip but it seems to me that if spam is so hated then who the h*** is buying this c***? and spamhaus.org says there are basically around 150 known big time spammers. why isn't someone going after them? and why doesn't news organizations run stories on them and make the public aware that buying from them can be disastrous? why isn't this on 60 minutes so people will know not to buy this s***? how hard would it be to educate people that hey, if their web site doesn't have an address listed and a phone number for someone you can call and a real email address DON'T BUY IT? even the dumbest of consumers can be educated but that information doesn't seem to be getting to them.
people getting spams and buying that c*** is still a lot of money
You will NOT be missed, because YOU are just another beige box maker, just like all the others. Pity you couldn't make an actual IMPRESSION on the world the way Apple has.
Oh sure, maybe someday Apple will go out of business too; but the difference is that people will REMEMBER Apple and all they did for the industry (like inventing it for example) and people's lives. Gatewill will never, ever be able to make a claim like that.
Who could forget the cow pattern boxes!?
I lived overseas for a while and had to pay /per minute for access. I got deluged by spam which cost me money to read so I looked up the senders via network tools and went to the advertised (spam) addresses. Surprise! Most of the sites were offline or rather, "kicked off" by their host servers by the time I received the spam and found the site. How the heck do they expect to sell anything anyway if their "customers" can't find them? Are they simply insane? That would explain a lot....
Once upon a time, Gateway, Wall Street, and everyone though this was a good idea and Gateway had good result for a while. Nevertheless, computer retailing is a very hard business. Hope Apple's effort bucks the trends.
