updated 08:45 am EST, Mon March 17, 2003

", 0, 0);

MacNN readers report a delay in shipment of Apple's replacement power supplies as part of Apple's for MDD Power Mac G4s, which were originally expected to ship on March 10: "Due to an unexpected supply delay, limited quantities of the kits will begin shipping at the end of March 2003. There has not been a change to the original lead time Apple quoted you when you placed your order."

    Who?

    Who exactly is getting this message from Apple? As far as I know none of the people who placed their order early on have received any message at all. Is this just going out to people who sign up now?

    Huh?

    "Better quality comes with delays"? The power supply is not going to change between March 10 and April 1; it's the same power supply used in new G4s. It's not like a piece of software Apple is holding back to fix bugs. It's just a supply problem.

    no change in lead time

    notice what they say? "There has not been a change to the original lead time Apple quoted you when you placed your order."

    That means that the delay is internal and you won't (shouldn't ) see any major difference as to when you get the darn thing.

    hum

    All I can say is they had better address the audio hum problem as well as the noisy fans, or they are going to go through the same thing all over again...
