Script Software releases Knowledge Miner 5.0
updated 09:05 am EST, Tue March 11, 2003
Script Software has released , its software application that employs a set of unique inductive learning and self-organizing modeling technologies: GMDH Neural Networks, Fuzzy Rule Induction, and Analog Complexing pattern recognition for time series prediction, classification, modeling, clustering, and diagnosis of complex ill-defined systems. It can generate reliable individual and hybrid models and also provides an explanation component in form of algebraic or difference equations, fuzzy rules, or a set of similar patterns. The new version implements a two stage model validation approach for parametric GMDH models.
Version 5.0 Platinum Features offers
- integrated noise filtering characteristics for a second level, on-the-fly model validation;
- supports evaluation if a model reflects a causal relationship or if it just models noise;
- allows for explicit definition of exogenous variables for creation of systems of equations;
- has two new data mining algorithms: Analog Complexing based clustering and
classification (n classes);
- supports extended table dimension for up to 30,000 rows;
- offers program-to-program communication via AppleScript (Mac only);
- can create and predict GMDH, Fuzzy, and AC models from within a script;
- allows for knowledge discovery workflow processing;
- includes an executable sample script for demand prediction: importing data
from databases (FileMaker or AppleWorks) or spreadsheets (MS Excel), data
preprocessing, data mining using different technologies, prediction of new
data, combining of predictions, and returning a final prediction (high,
mean, low) to the initial data source;
- offers ROC analysis to measure classification power of a model;
- includes 5 hours data mining consulting;
Pricing starts at $35 for the Copper Student Edition, while the Platinum Editin is $1,800.
